Be Brave With Your Life

Life as they say is so precious. We have no right to take our life because it is too precious to harm yourself. The words of authority spoken by God in the beginning is the definition of supremacy and authority when he made man and gave him life. That is why we need to take life seriously and also enjoy it to the fullest. Be brave with your life.

By now you know my passion, my life is all about inspiring and motivating lives. A life that’s quality driven. It’s a message I intend to keep sharing for the rest of my life, because I’ve been on the other side of quantity without quality, of more pain and less pleasure, of darker days than brighter ones…Stop listening to those who say…it can’t be done, you don’t have it in you, you don’t deserve it, you are not worth it. Stop listening to that because it will kill your spirit and quench your fire. Listen to the voice of “I can, I will and I am”. Feed what you want to grow! If you want to remain in the state you are in – a life of pain, unhappiness, darkness, despair, worry, and fear then DO NOTHING!

Suicide is not an option as i have explained in the first paragraph. Your life is too precious and God sees it that way. Do your best and leave the rest.

You need to be brave with your life and take charge of it to being your better self.

Make A Chain: For The Land Is Full Of Crimes And The City Of Violence

God hates it when the innocent are afflicted with violence and bloodshed. He hates evil and political corruption. He hates courts that are false and leaders who are abusive of their power. We need to be rest assured that He will provide deliverance for his faithful followers and administer justice to those who have abused or harmed other people. If not in this life, for sure in the next.

Crimes and Violence

Prayer : Father, thank you for assuring me that your justice will ultimately be done with those who are violent, corrupt, wicked, and abusive. Give us patience to wait in hope until the day of ultimate justice is done. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!!!

Let’s Love And Not Fight, Let’s Say No To Xenophobia

According to Wikipedia, Xenophobia is the fear or hatred of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange. Xenophobia can involve perceptions of an ingroup toward an outgroup and can manifest itself in suspicion of the activities of others or individuals, and a desire to eliminate their presence to secure a presumed purity and may relate to a fear of losing national, ethnic or racial identity.

The sad situation happening in South Africa right now is truly savage and inhumane. How can a man from the same race kill another black man. It has been disturbing seeing pictures and videos of killings.

Yesterday, South African companies in Nigeria got vandalized and destroyed. After the shocking news and views of South Africans killing Africans, they retaliated by destroying their businesses and properties. Shoprite yesterday was destroyed and people went in to steal a lot of goods worth millions of naira. Also an MTN office was destroyed.

Please let’s spread the word in prayer till it reaches our Father in heaven, and also with our voice it should get to the United Nations who can be of assistance to stop this barbaric act. Because I don’t think the president of the country is making matters easy or spoken or taken action to stop this act.

My prayer goes to everyone who has lost a family member or friend since this killings started in South Africa. Also to every foreigners that God will keep them safe.

You can repost on your platform. Thank you very much fam!!!

Seyi Awolowo: A Leaders Race To Winning Big Brother Naija 2019 “Pepperdem”

This is a sponsored post.

Seyi Awolowo is more than the next winner of Big Brother Naija 2019. He’s a model of leadership who demonstrates traits and characteristics that are essential for present day leaders and professionals.

Before and after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, Abraham Lincoln confronted a variety of trials and obstacles, but remained committed to his vision to create a free nation. Just like Lincoln, Seyi Awolowo embodies many admirable qualities, two are especially relevant:

Seyi Awolowo is a master listener.

Like most leaders, Seyi dealt with conflicting views and personalities in the big brother house, yet he’s known as a man who listened. People were free to oppose his point of view without fear of retaliation. Of course, listening wasn’t always an indication of Seyi’s agreement. He would simply listen to competing ideas, process what he’d heard, and then respectfully make his final decision.

Seyi Awolowo is a master communicator.

Seyi is a communicator who artfully wove his vision for a new Nigeria for the youths with the priorities of his team. This is no small feat, as one housemate wrestle with daily. Often, it’s difficult to make decisions especially now that he has the veto power to save himself. Seyi is a speaker of the people. In other words, he simplified his vision and presented it in a way that conveyed his understanding of the people.

Having a vision is one thing, but believing that it is possible and will happen is what separates a successful leader and others.

That leader is Seyi Awolowo.

Please show your support and love to this born leader with incredible leadership skills and brilliance in the Big Brother House this year.

No Such Thing As “Fear Of The Unknown”

Lots of people say they have a fear of the unknown. How can you fear something you don’t know?

Example #1: You Always Order the Same thing at a Restaurant
I argue with friends all the time who get the same exact thing at a restaurant and refuse to try anything else. Their response is always the same, “I know I like this so why would I try anything else?” Now thats a fair point, but my question is, how did you find out that you liked what you are ordering? At some point in your life you had to have eaten that for the first time…you had to step out in faith and try something new.

Example #2: Meeting New People / Friends is Not Easy
What about friends. Meeting new people is never the easiest thing in the world. My last job was an example where I knew NO ONE. To say I was scared was an understatement, but i knew that I had to meet people or I would have a miserable 2 years at the job. So I went out and met people. I met people I didn’t like, and have never seen again, and I met people who I continue to speak with today, and am extremely close with. But I would never have met either of those groups had I decided to be scared and not take action.

Biblical Examples
Think about some of the people in the bible who were about to step into the unknown and could have easily just not done anything and stayed scared…

  1. Moses – he could have stayed in the desert even after God called him. He had no clue what was going to happen when he went back into Egypt. But he went…
  2. David – he could have stayed in the field and not gone to fight Goliath, he had no idea what was going to happen when he faced the giant. But he went…
  3. Disciples – They all took a chance by following a carpenter and having faith in Him. They had no clue what this Jesus would do or how they would survive if they eft where they were. But they went…
  4. Jesus – Jesus was crucified because He actually did know what would come out of it. He went to the cross…

Can you imagine what would have happened had these individuals not taken a step of faith and stepped into the unknown? The bible as we know it would look much different. For example look at the last example…

Not as Positive Biblical Example
Rich Young Man Matthew 19:16-30 – He didn’t know what would happen, but Jesus told him what he had to leave to follow Him and he went away sad. This man didn’t go…and was never mentioned again in the Bible, and was never even given a name.

Take a chance today, or over the next week and months. Put yourself in a position to meet someone new. I challenge you to meet someone you have never met before. Do something you have never done before. Change up your routine and experience another path and see what happens. Maybe you’ll end up meeting someone you find that you don’t know how you lived without!

Just think about it this way…God will meet you on every path you take, so there is no such thing as the unknown…God is there, so what is there to be afraid of…Go ahead!

Trying to Be Perfect Never Works, So Quit It Already!

If you believe it is attainable, you will seek and never find it, you will strive and never achieve it, you will think you’ve got it and then something will happen and you’ll realize you never had it to start with.

It will suck the joy from your life.

There are many of us who have experienced the crippling behavior of perfectionism.

It makes you feel like nothing you are or do is quite enough or quite right.

It leaves you constantly trying to be more, do more, achieve more, make things better and better, until one day you will be able to breathe easy knowing you are perfect, everything you have done is perfect and everything around you is perfect.

It stops you from finishing anything, or it stops you from celebrating what you do finish as you’re too busy looking at what you wish you had done better. This cripples your soul, it torments your mind, it suppresses your creativity, it limits your progress and it slows the pace at which you produce anything (personally or productivity in the workplace). It affects the outcomes you generate and it drastically impacts your enjoyment.

It will cause you to focus on things that simply don’t matter, at the expense of things that truly do matter. It will lead you to see faults, where right next to those faults complete beauty and magic exist.

It will lead you to think you are someone role modelling excellence, when in fact you are role modelling paralyzing over-analysis and complete imbalance in priorities.

It will affect your home life and your career. It will affect your self-esteem and your relationships.

It will impact your thoughts and feelings, and give rise to unnecessary tension and stress.

You will never be perfect, because perfection is not possible.

Perfection is an illusion. Life by its very nature is imperfect, and you as a human being by your very nature are imperfect.

Additionally, your entire life from birth to death is a process of expansion – to learn and evolve. Perfection goes directly against this process. If you were perfect, and your life were perfect, then you would be done! You would not be here. You could not fulfil the very progression that is inherent in your human nature, and so what would be the point of your life?

Perfection also denies the value and uniqueness of all your imperfections, of all your quirks and development areas, of your beautiful weirdness that you know and I see, and your loved ones adore. Perfection would make you vanilla. You were born much more flavoursome and colourful than that. Your job here in life is to give full expression to every ounce of who you were born as, not to try to fit yourself to a societally defined and unattainable plastic model of “perfection”.

By all means strive for excellence. Have high standards. Face every moment of every day with the intention of being your best self, and giving your all and creating memorable outputs. That will allow you to have inner peace. That will lead you into success. But don’t confuse that with crippling perfectionism. They are completely different perspectives, and give rise to completely different life experiences.

I know all of this because I used to be a perfectionist. So, if you want to change and someone tells you that leopards can’t change their spots, tell them to keep quiet while you prove them wrong!

I Hope You Know That You Always Have A Choice

I hope you know that you always have a choice.

I hope you understand that you are capable of changing your life even if the odds are against you. I hope you know that there are people out there who are willing to help you and guide you until you make it on your own. I hope you know that the kind of happiness you’re looking for is not out of reach.

I hope you still remember what happiness looks like, what it feels like and what it means to you because life has a way of making you forget and life has a way of making you believe that you don’t deserve it. I hope you still have the courage to fight for that happiness and fight for that life. I hope you don’t make settling a habit just because it’s easier. I hope you don’t make pain a permanent friend just because it’s been with you for a while. I hope you understand that pain is there to make you grow instead of making you suffer.

I hope you know that you always have a choice.

I hope you don’t give up on your love story just because all your previous stories ended in heartbreak. I hope you still believe in the kind of love that softens your heart and makes you trust again. The kind of love that brings out the depths of your emotions, the beauty of your soul and the kindness of your heart. The kind of love that doesn’t remind you of everything that’s wrong with the world. I hope you find the kind of love that restores your faith in romance.

The kind of love that stands by you and makes you feel at home.
And I hope you have the courage to leave the kind of love that poisons your heart. The kind of love that forces you to hide who you are or play games or question yourself. I hope you can still take your heart back from those who destroyed it.
I hope you know that you always have a choice.

But more than anything, I hope you never give up on yourself. Your dreams. Your happiness. Your ideas. Your feelings. Your voice. And I hope you know that they matter. Please don’t discount them. Please don’t forget them. Please don’t let your mistakes define you.

I hope you can forgive yourself. I hope you don’t forget your worth because of a few mistakes or a few people who couldn’t love you. I hope you read this and remember that you’re here to evolve. You’re here to learn. You’re not here to be perfect. You’re not here to do everything right.
I hope you know that you always have a choice.

And I hope that in the coldest of moments, you choose to show the world your warmth. And in the midst of all tragedies, you choose to show the world your faith.

And through it all, I hope you always choose yourself.

Social Media Habits Linked To Depression

Social media is a platform where many users post the highlights of their lives – but scientists say it may be making some people depressed.

A study, conducted by researchers at Texas State University, analysed the habits of 500 students frequently using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

It was found that while the users’ reasons for using the platforms were not linked with mental illnesses, how they interacted with the platforms were.

Those who compared themselves with others they considered “better off than” also had a higher likelihood of having depression.

Those who scored highly on the “social media addiction” component also had higher depression ratings. This section was based on statements such as “you have tried to cut down on the use of social media without success” and “you use social media so much that it has had a negative impact on your job/studies”.

Those with depression who used social media were more bothered by being tagged in unflattering photos, and were less likely to post pictures of themselves with other people.

“People tend to make themselves look better off than they really are” on social media. “This is not someone’s ‘real life.’ It’s important to recognize that.”

It’s not the first time social media has been linked to bad habits. Studies earlier this year have also connected the platforms to overspending and overeating.

My next post will emphasize more on these points.
