Be Kind To Others Even If It Hurts You

After reading this, you will be so amazed how the little boy reacted to the waitress.

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 year old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him.

‘How much is an ice cream sundae?’

’500 Naira,’ replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied a number of notes in it.

‘How much is a dish of plain ice cream?’ he inquired. Some people were now waiting for a table and the waitress was a bit impatient.

’300 naira,’ she said brusquely.

The little boy again counted the notes. ‘I’ll have the plain ice cream,’ he said.

The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and departed.

When the waitress came back, she began wiping down the table and then swallowed hard at what she saw.

There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were 150 naira – her tip.”

Lesson:

Whatever situation you are in life, be kind. Try to be patient, try to be a servant in whatever environment you find yourself. Your reward might not be from human but God.

Pride Prevents Patient Waiting

Trust your day is going great guys.

So this morning I was really bothered about my future and what and what am yet to be done around me. I tried distracting myself with house chores and stuffs but to no avail. Later on, I picked an old jotter of mine and started reading. The first thing my eyes sighted on was a topic about being patient and not pride.

It is impossible to enjoy waiting if you don’t know how to wait patiently. Pride prevents patient waiting because the proud person thinks so highly of himself that he believes he should never be inconvenience in anyway.

Although we are not to think badly of ourselves, we are also not to think too highly of ourselves. It is dangerous to lift ourselves up to such an elevated place that it causes us to look down on others. If they are not doing things the way we want, or as quickly as we think they should be done, we behave impatiently.

“A humble person will not display an impatient attitude”

Am so relieved right now, I hope you are also???

Waiting On God

I am reminded today of the importance of maintaining an attitude of waiting on God. I am not suggesting inactivity but rather the highest form of spiritual activity, that of trusting God in every area of life. Wait on Him for strength, healing, wisdom, and opportunity. Wait on God to reveal Himself to you and to show you His amazing favor. God is waiting to be good to us, and He looks for those who are waiting on Him (Isaiah 30:18).

Father God, I desire to form a habit of waiting on You all throughout the day. Help me not to rush ahead into activities and decisions without acknowledging You. Thank You for Your presence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

On God’s Time

Yea another Wednesday time for reflecting and telling stories that inspires and motivates the soul.

On God’s time, nothing is too big for him to execute. Once upon a time a man asked God when he  walked to the top of a hill to talk to Him.

The man asked, “God, what’s a million years to you?” and God said, “A minute.”

Then the man asked, “Well, what’s a million dollars to you?” and God said, “A penny.”

Then the man asked, “God…..can I have a penny?” and God said, “Sure…..in a minute.”

We should not think we ain’t doing our best or our prayers are not answered. God is working, and His time is always the best.
